Meet Jeanie.

I am a counsellor with over 18 years' experience supporting women through trauma, transition, and recovery. My practice has included extensive work with domestic and family violence, childhood trauma, and sexual abuse — I bring a warm, steady presence and a deep respect for each woman’s unique story. My approach is client-led, trauma-informed, and holistic. I draw on life experience, intuition and use storytelling and narrative enquiry to explore your own wisdom strength and creativity. Together, we move at a pace that feels safe, supporting you to reconnect with your own innate power. I draw on a range of evidence-informed approaches including: Narrative Therapy Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Somatic and sensory-motor psychotherapy Person-centred and strengths-based frameworks Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) I work with women of all ages and life stages — from early adulthood to menopause and beyond. Whether you’re rebuilding after trauma, moving through change, or seeking deeper self-understanding, my intention is to offer a space where you feel safe, understood, and heard. I seek to create a space to slow down, reconnect, and begin to trust your own inner guidance again — to remember the wise woman you have always been.

Experience and Qualifications

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Rural Social Welfare, a Diploma in Counselling, and a Diploma in Yoga Teaching, along with further training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Pat Ogden’s training in somatic psychotherapy, Blue Knot training in trauma-informed practice, and attachment training with Circle of Security International.

I draw on up-to-date, evidence-based research; above all, I hold the power, wisdom, and expert knowledge of each person’s lived experience in deep reverence.  I have learned more from the hundreds, maybe thousands, of women I have held space for over the years than from any textbook or research paper. This is my guiding light in the counselling process.

You don't have to do this alone.
